Spring is here! Time to put away those dark dreary winter colors and bring out the brightness!!! Here are some new spring make- up trends for the make-up lovers like me!
- Cat-Eyes: Bust out your black liquid liner, because perennially chic cat-eyes are especially big for spring (we're looking at you, Dennis Basso and Tracy Reese!). Makeup artist Mally Roncal (who created the look for Tracy Reese) told us a thin cotton swab dipped in makeup remover is the key to getting a clean line.
- Soft Berry Lips: Michael Kors gave lips a believable berry shade courtesy of Michael Kors Lip Lacquer in Dame. At Joie, artists kicked up the color with a brighter berry to perk up minimal makeup.
- Gilded Lids: At Jason Wu's show, Lancôme makeup artists smudged Le Crayon Khol in Black Coffee into creases and lined the top lashes with Jason Wu for Lancôme Artliner in Noir. Then the lids were given a wash of brown eyeshadow and topped with actual loose gold glitter for a stunning metallic effect. Try a metallic pigment to pull this off, like MAC Pressed Pigment in Damson, $21.
- Glowing Skin: At Philip Lim, skin was given a glow via a mix of Nars Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer and Copacabana liquid Illuminator. At J. Mendel, makeup artists applied Revlon Skinlights in Bronze to the cheeks, bridge of nose, and forehead with a wet sponge.
- A Pop of Green: At Lela Rose, a soft wash of chartreuse (Stila Eye Shadow in Cha Cha mixed with Countless Color Pigments in Light Show) across lids looked fresh when paired with an otherwise neutral face (just a few pops of pink on the lips and cheeks).
