Well since I am a Military Girlfriend, I figured I should start really getting even more into it. I joined the FRG (Family Readiness Group) for the Unit 1462nd, which is the unit my boyfriend works at. Not only did I join that group, but I also became very interested in what other military girlfriends, wives, and mom's were doing.
See our soldiers out of the 1462nd are deploying. Yes this includes my boyfriend. I am very sad and I am trying to mentally, physically and emotionally prepare for the next year to come. I don't want him to go, but I don't want any of them to go. I understand though that they have to do what is needed of them and I as a military girlfriend, need to be there and be strong for my loving soldier. He told me this from day one and there's no going back now!
So when I say I started looking into what other's are doing, I went on facebook and found a bunch of pages that military spouses made. On these pages, are a lot of crafters. I was really excited to find this out. There are so many unique individuals and so many talented people out there. I found this one page, and she makes wreaths. Military wreaths, all shapes and sizes. I saw one that she did, and it really inspired me. So I studied the pictures and came up with a way to do my own Military Wreaths.
So this is what I came up with........

So this is what I came up with........
What you'll need:
1. ACU material
2. Zig Zag scissors
3. Cut the material into strips probably 11/2-2 inches wide with the zig zag scissors.
4. Cut into squares with zigzag scissors 2 inches long x 2 inches wide.
5. Hot Glue each square, by folding them in half, then hot glue them with
the folded side down. Then just keep adding them till its to your liking.
6. Then add a yellow bow and a iron on american flag patch.
Then you're done!

I went out and bought a heart shaped wreath from Joann's Fabric Store. Then my friend Erin, who had old ACU's (from when she was in the Military) gave me one of her old uniforms. I told her she would get this wreath, if I could figure out how to make it. In other words she was my tester. Well I figured it out and she got her wreath. She loved it and fell in love with it. She said I should sell them, but not sure about that. It took a lot of time, but that's only because I work through out the week, every week.
I really hope this inspires you to make your own, and if you have any questions, please let me know. I know the person that originally made them, really inspired me, so much I went and made one myself. Obviously!
Hope you have a great day and as always....HAPPY CRAFTING!!
